News letter 3 - ÖTILLÖ 2011

This is the 3rd of four News letters. The final one will be sent on Wednesday next week.

IMPORTANT DATES AND TIMES

A chartered ferry will take you to the start line. It leaves from Saltsjöbaden (25 minutes from city centre) at 1230 pm on Sunday, the 4th of September. You need to be on this ferry as it is the only way for you to be able to be in time for all going- ons at the Start line. The same ferry will take you back to Saltsjöbaden on Tuesday, the 6th of September at 0930, arrival at 11 am. This means that those of you flying to the race need to plan arrival on saturday the 3rd and departure on tuesday after 1430.

There is no other way or time to travel to and from the race unless you charter a boat at your expense.

Make sure you plan accordingly!

The ferry leaves from ÅNGBÅTSBRYGGAN, You will see ÖTILLÖ flags and Staff.

Parking can be found next to the train station and in front of Grand Hotell.

TRAIN SCHEDULE

The trains (SALTSJÖBANAN) leave every 20 minutes from SLUSSEN. Take the train towards Saltsjöbaden station - the last stop. The train takes 25 minutes.

THE FERRY

The ferry can only bring yourself and those who have already booked a space. Make sure you are on time.

GPS TRACKING

Due to an extreme medical situation our GPS Tracking supplier will not be able to provide us with their service this year. You will therefore carry a chip system instead. The major change for you is that the you will not have to carry an extra GPS tracking device. We will of course still have LIVE reporting on the web site with times, places, photos, text and so on.

MANDATORY GEAR

It is important that you bring all Mandatory Gear (see rules) to the start line as no gear is available there.

Make sure you READ the rules.

LITTERING

During the 2010 race there was quite alot of littering along the course. This will NOT be accepted this year. Littering = Disqualification. Carry your litter to the closest trash cans, there are many along the way.

THE 2011 RACE COURSE

The race course 2011 will be very similar, we have changed one cut- off. From Ornö Kyrka to the very end of the Ornö run. The cut - off is now at 1800. This is available on the web site (about the race).

This is so we can provide the press with your info and provide BETSAFE with info so they can create betting odds.MAKE SURE YOU SEND IN TEAM BIOs ASAP

Hej vänner!

Detta är News Letter 3 av 4. Läs dem noggrant. Det sista brevet skickas ut på onsdag.

VIKTIGA DATUM OCH TIDER

Ett chartrat fartyg kommer ta er till starten. Det lämnar Saltsjöbaden på söndag den 4e september kl 1230. Ni behöver vara med på detta fartyg, annars kommer ni missa all incheckning och tävlingsinfo i Sandhamn. Samma fartyg kommer ta er tillbaka till Saltsjöbaden den 6e september kl 1100. Det betyder att ni som flyger in måste sannolikt komma på lördagen till Stockholm och kan flyga hem efter 1430 på tisdagen.

Det finns inget annat sätt att ta sig till och från tävlingen om ni inte väljer att chartra egen båt eller med båt taxi.

Var säkra på att ni planerar enligt detta!

Färjan åker från ÅNGBÅTSBRYGGAN, ni kommer se ÖTILLÖ flaggor o volontärer.

Parkera kan ni göra framför tågstationen eller framför Grand Hotell.

TÅGTABELL

SALTSJÖBANAN åker från SLUSSEN var 20e minut. Ta tåget till Saltsjöbaden Station - Slutstationen. Tåget tar 25 minuter. Exakt tidtabell finns på www.sl.se

GPS TRACKING

På grund av extrem sjukdom hos leverantören för vår GPS tracking kommer vi att använda ett chipsystem istället. Den stora förändringen blir att ni slipper bära en GPS sändare. Vi kommer ändå har LIVE rapportering med tider o platser på hemsidan.

FÄRJAN

Det finns endast plats för dig och de andra som är anmälda till färjan. Håll tiden!

OBLIGATORISK UTRUSTNING

Se till att ta med all obligatorisk utrustning (se Rules) till starten då det inte finns möjlighet att komplettera på plats.

NEDSKRÄPNING

Under 2010 års tävling förekom alldeles för mycket skräp längs banan. I år kommer detta EJ accepteras. Nedskräpning = Diskvalifikation. Bär med skräp till närmaste soptunna, det finns många längs banan.

2011 BANA

Tävlingsbanan 2011 kommer vara väldigt snarlik 2010 års bana. Den enda ändringen är att sista CUT OFF tid är flyttad från Ornö Kyrka till Södraste delen av Ornö där den långa löpningen tar slut. Den tiden är 1800 där.  Den finns tillgänglig på hemsidan (about the race).
